The Tridonic ACCU-LiFePO4 7.5Ah 5C CON is a rechargeable lithium iron phosphate battery assembly designed for use with approved Tridonic emergency-lighting control gear.

Its five cells are divided between two slim battery sticks in a 3+2 arrangement. This split configuration provides greater installation flexibility than a single five-cell stick and is useful where the available luminaire space is divided between two mounting positions.

The longest three-cell section measures approximately 223 × 22 × 24 mm. The complete assembly has a rated voltage of 3.2 V and a total rated capacity of 7.5 Ah.

Integrated electronics provide deep-discharge, overcharge and short-circuit protection. A built-in thermal sensor supports safe charging and helps protect the battery when connected to compatible Tridonic emergency control gear.

LiFePO4 technology provides high energy density, dependable high-temperature performance and good charge retention. Under suitable installation, charging and temperature conditions, the battery offers a design life of up to 12 years.

INSTALLATION AND COMMISSIONING

The battery must be connected only to compatible Tridonic emergency-lighting control gear. Both battery sections form a single assembly and must be installed together.

For a new battery to reach its rated capacity, Tridonic specifies two to three complete activation cycles. Each cycle consists of:

• A complete 24-hour charging period


• A complete emergency-duration discharge


• Recharging before the next discharge cycle

If the first duration test is unsuccessful, recharge the battery for 24 hours and repeat the test.

Install both sections securely, away from heat sources, and ensure the interconnecting cables cannot be trapped, stretched or damaged. Observe the temperature limits specified for the associated emergency driver.

During construction or commissioning, leave the battery disconnected until a stable, continuous mains supply is available. Excessive cycling or prolonged storage while discharged can significantly reduce battery life.
